…or The Case of the Missing Water Meter, part 1

Andy Dufresne – Tim Robbins’ character in the movie – and I have a lot in common. Tenacious, patient, cerebral…errr…anyway, I thought of him whilst clearing more bush and digging a deep hole by the side of the road with a tiny kitchen tool in a heroic but unsuccessful effort to find our meter. And all before breakfast. To be fair, Andy didn’t have a lush pool to leap into after his toil. Lucky me.

The Barbados Water Authority is going to get another call in a minute to chase up the request we put in a week ago for someone to come, locate the meter and read it. At the time it was raised as an ‘Issue’. Well it’s becoming an issue for us as it was last read in September 2023 and has been estimated as high use since then. Lord knows what a reading will reveal. Be careful what you wish for, eh?
