During the VIPs stay we were struggling to get hot water in the showers, well it was patchy to say the least. Actually lukewarm in this climate is actually very refreshing. Those of you that have followed all our shenanigans will recall the leaking hot water tank and the muddy Victoria Falls that resulted from its emptying. Since then we have been managing on one tank … as Brian says “Bird don’t fly pon one wing”. We also discovered that the washing machine cold feed is plumbed to the red tap DUH. So with a house full and running the machine it’s no wonder the water was a bit chilly. In addition the immersion heater (although we are still to figure out which switch turns it on😂😂) was plumbed to the defunct tank.
So today was the day and we had two new solar panels installed and one new tank.

The boys at work.
So ✅ another problem solved … we just need to seek out the immersion switch for cloudy rainy days …. Not that we get many of them.
And with just two hours of sunshine after they finished the job, I had to dial down the hot in my shower tonight.
The monkeys were having a real spat about something, it was early doors, but they get up early. They have been onto our patio early mornings leaving half eaten fruit and other little presents so I leapt out of bed to see what was irking them … they were up the sour orange tree bending the low branches and taking a bite out of the fruit deciding it was too sour. Enough … I raced down there and a face off ensued. Yes I won and I walked away from our showdown with armfuls of oranges whilst they chattered and complained in the trees above. Anyway there are still more on the tree, for them and for cocktails. Even I will accept there only so many cocktails you can make and given a new batch of VIPs arriving on Sunday, marmalade it was. A vat of marmalade.

So we are sitting on the patio with a sundowner contemplating supper … once again another busy day. The plumber has finally found the elusive valve and started work on the toilet but now the flex lines don’t fit as they are not standard sizes etc etc. he says he will be back on Monday.
What with solar heating, raking leaves, plumbers, making beds up for VIPs and no time even for a dip in the pool….. it’s not been a red roses, fancy dinner and sweet nothings day, but still the romance is in the fairy lights, the crooning frogs and the bamboo in the breeze. Cheers. ❤️
