I’m sure you are all beside yourselves with anticipation to hear a banking update. Today has been a doing day and we have much to report.

We have spent a glorious weekend getting back into island life. We fall asleep to frogs and wake to parakeets. We make a big effort to try increase our rum alcohol blood levels. We reconnect with family and friends and even making new friends. People are excited to hear our plans and are full of extremely valuable knowledge and advice. A take home message ….. “Increase your tolerance dial to maximum and decrease your expectation to low and you should be ok”

So with that in mind we are at our 8am appointment with the bank at 7.55 am. They are expecting us. Good start.

Turns out that to get a joint account we each have to have an account and only I have the requisite stuff, Richard has to start from scratch. Once we each have an account one can invite the other to join them. Joint accounts don’t exist on the app apparently. OK, we start that process.

At least it’s cool. The aircon is on max. It’s hot, damn hot outside. Hot and humid.

Ok job done. My provisionally approved account has gone to the manager to be doubly approved. I dare to ask when we may have a working account ….. well he says “we would hope to have it open by the end of next week providing the manager does not get bogged down”
