The electric toothbrush is not happy, nor indeed am I. Not quite a “highway to hell” but I’m getting myself tied up in cable knots. The UK toothbrush we brought with us complete with shaving socket adapter never did charge in its warmer home because we forgot the charging stand. Luckily Massy sells electric toothbrushes … one other thing that does not need to cross the Atlantic. However newly arrived back in its country of origin (well that was probably China – we’d better say country of original purchase) it has thrown a hissy fit and is now not charging … at all … it does a couple of pathetic green in black “I’m working” flashes and then stops and sticks “back in black” … unlike my husband I’m not even an AC/DC fan but am warming to my theme. 🤣

Meanwhile juggling what cables are needed is a “Touch too much” hassle for my liking. My iPad is not that old but has a lightning charge point, R’s is newer and has USBc, so we need different cables to charge the iPads. The iPad charging blocks each come with usbc. The reverse is true for the phones. The kindles need a different end doobrie plug thingy… not to mention the speaker charger, the power bank, the head torch etc etc. Being a child of the 1960’s what would my 20yr old self say if in 1985 I told her 40yrs later I would need the following cables …

USB-USB, USB-lightning, USB-USBC, USB-that funny shape that like a gable roof, USBC- lightning, USBC-USBC, lightning-gable….

Quite apart from it all being a foreign language, she would probably be “Thunderstruck”…. Safe to say whichever cable I currently need is not where it used to be or is charging something else. “Hells bells” … techie people get on this, it might be a “shot in the dark” but there must be a potential patent pending somewhere.

Now where is that old, back up, slow to charge, quick to need charging, toothbrush that we replaced with the new toothbrush that’s soon to become landfill? … “Big Balls”.
