Monday 19th February 2024 (Mum’s Birthday – that’s ironic – she had always badgered Dad to come back to live on the island)
So here we are driving down to view this wild card. Honestly I’m thinking, “hmm I not feeling so clever, I might even be coming down with something”, this is our last few days on the island surely this is a waste of time.
Down the bumpy road with cane fields and rich dark brown earth on either side of the road. We drove through the gates to be greeted with lush mature tropical gardens, huge mahogany trees and the hummingbirds – yes a hummingbird in the tree orchids. Good start!
As we were escorted around the property it just continued to deliver. The history, the sugar mill, the coral stone, the potential … well… it blew us away.
We offered she accepted
