We start breaking the news quite quickly. Friends who had recently stayed with us only a matter of days prior to the start of the adventure and earlier on in the year are first, and perhaps the most surprised, after all it was not even a thing then. We revel in their reactions … it’s almost that we need some reassurance that we are not totally insane. Of course nothing was confirmed and as we all know property transactions can go tits up, so we limited the grapevine.

Soon we have offers of help, painting, tiling, pool cleaners, gardeners – at least it looks like we will have lots of visitors.
