According to the tracking at 18.00 last night the Valparaiso Express docked in Bridgetown.

The ship looks just massive, I mean ginormous and soooo very heavy. Nestled in the melee (I hope not at the bottom), one of those little squares, is our huge 20ft container. I have to admit being initially slightly obsessed with the tracking, but that soon morphed into “butterflies in the stomach” unpleasant feeling, every time I looked at its location. The sinking feeling worsened when the initial 9 days at sea became 20 and then it’s going via the Dominican Republic to have 4 days unloading and loading there and then 2 days from DR to BIM. So I had to wean myself off the addiction and stop looking. It was due in yesterday, so this morning before getting up, we treated our self to a little tracking hit. ITS HERE!!!! Now we wait to see what the customs makes of it. The container is being delivered here, direct to Pollards so I am imagining…. because imagination is all I have to go on at the moment ….customs will come here to inspect the contents contemporaneously, whilst it is being unpacked. I have a vision…… long jigsaw puzzle table, set up in the shade under the trees, cooling breeze, comfy chairs, cooler with drinks for them, a choice of banana or coconut cake …… no not bribes just ahhhh eeeeem, on the other hand we don’t want to make them too comfy…. What we want is a quick tick and off they go… what to do, hmmmmm?
Another arrival on last nights trade winds was our bride. Her wedding is 3 weeks tomorrow and she has come early. So next week we have meetings with her, the wedding planner, the caterer and the marquee people. Luckily all at the same time. We just need to juggle timings, as currently we have no clue when the container is being delivered. Whilst there has been absolutely no indication of bridezilla tendencies, in fact quite the opposite she seems very chilled BUT a large container arriving and all the confusion and paraphernalia associated will not give her the impression that we have everything under control.
In other sink matters, we have two other sink projects ongoing. I know I have been holding you on the hook with the ensuite renovation, and that’s because it’s still not finished. The shower is in and I had an inaugural drenching last night. We eventually compromised again on taps because believe or not the promised taps did not arrive on 19th as expected. We now await the carpenters (who have had a bereavement and popped off to Guyana) to raise the countertop from disabled height, the plumber to resite the sinks and to fit the new taps. Our reclaimed plantation shutter cabinet doors can then be installed and we will be done …..
Here is a little shower teaser… full transformation pictures will follow.

The chattel house pool toilets are almost ready. We are still white washing the walls, and need to replace the toilet seats and door knobs. The tiler has cut out the mosaics to tile around the sinks but needs return, because I bought the wrong tile adhesive…. Groan. You can imagine how it went … “we have a problem” he says …. Me ….. sinking feeling returns … again. Anyway I have now purchased correct product and once that is done …. Next week he says …. Those sinks will look amazing, with tiles to match the pool. Lush. Another renovation project will be ticked off.
