Busy busy busy. Mondays always were a busy day. Back in the days when I was working it was the long list of 10minute appointments. These appointments filled very quickly … people worrying all weekend about something they have ignored for ages and then deciding to do something about it on Monday morning. Illnesses that cropped up over the weekend or on waking that morning and meaning they needed to get it checked out before going to work. Also those who were lonely, bored or infatuated with the gorgeous new GP … 🤣
Any past or present ED nurse will agree, Mondays were busy. People knew that the ED would be busy at the weekend … so best pop in on Monday. The misperception that they would get to see an expert more quickly … drove some to ED or indeed the lack of GP appointments etc etc it’s thorny and multi causal. Whatever the reasons Mondays were always busy. Since retiring we have celebrated Mondays. Sunday nights have been transformed from an early night, ironing shirts and mental prep for the next day … to end of the weekend what exciting adventures does the next week bring.
Today is an exception to our retired routine and a return to form, it’s been busy. Our new right hand woman in the cleaning department needed collecting and at the same time the pool man was coming to give us an opinion on the degradation of the pool coating. We divided and conquered.
I needed to share my cleaning success with our new favourite person. One of the sinks in the pool changing rooms was orange … and I mean gross. There was thick limescale which had become stained. Over the last few weeks I have tried ….. vinegar, lime out, caustic soda, bleach and A LOT of elbow grease and nothing has shifted it. I was just beginning to give up and I spotted …..

……in the hardware shop. One last attempt. Well I’m happy to report my Sunday had a big win when after leaving it for 30 minutes the scale started lifting. It took 3 doses and still a great deal of elbow grease. The biggest disappointment is I do not have photographic evidence of my success. She was delighted for me …. Bless
We also had a second opinion on a condemned A/C unit, blast … they concur so will quote to replace it …. It would just have to be the newest biggest and most efficient unit we have. Richard did a pirouette around the lawn on his new and favourite toy and I cleaned more screens. Tools were downed at 4.30 as usual and we dived in the pool. Now the BBQ is lit, chook marinating in a decent dose of Bajan seasoning and we are enjoying putting our feet up. Until I realised a bastard mosquito has found my juicy foot bottom irresistible…… that’s the danger of putting your feet up. They have been so much better recently, I got complacent. It’s going to be another early night. Happy Monday.
